Step 1 - Understanding what you need from a Job
About this step
You need to identify the things that matter to you. Some of these may be tangible, like money and locality, others may be more intangible, like whether it gives you fulfillment. Whatever the things that matter to you, if your new job doesn't provide them, it's not going to be a success. So, before you start your search, you need to identify what your new job will need to deliver for you.
Why completing this step will help
- Avoid getting into the wrong job
- Check that the job is a good fit
- Check that it will meet your needs
- Recognise at the outset what constraints you have
